wow, great conversation with an authentic person can really make the miles fly by. meats and i cruised 21.1mi in under 7 hours and decided to go into manchester center, vt for a late lunch and resupply. i had a burger and my first dish of poutine, a quebec specialty of cheese and beef gravy covered french fries. sooooo, yummy. we were in and out of town in 2 hours and back on trail, having missed a rain shower that had just gone over the mountain and then hiking a short 2mi and then making it to bromely shelter right before the rain started again. just a fun and well executed day. 23.1mi from story spring to bromely shelter. 1648.1 total.
