rain, rain, and more rain. it rained all night and most of the day. it is also cold. there were several times where i actually said out loud, "it is june, right?" i stopped at goddard shelter at 3,571ft for lunch and just about froze my toosh off. i hightailed it out of there and only made it 17.4mi to story spring shelter. there was a point where my hands started to get hypothermic again. this tough day of hiking ended with an awesome surprise as i finally caught up with meats who also decided to call it an early day cuz of the weather. so awesome to see him again! hopefully we will hike together tomorrow. 17.4mi from melville to story spring. 1625.0 total.
