day 8 - 3/18

another beautiful night. i slept so well with the rain softly coming down on my hammock fly with a conopy of rhodadendron overhead. the picture below was my wake up gift just few miles fown the trail. basically its morning from a mile high in nc. i really went fast today. i went 19.6 mi in only 7.5 hours. that's 2.61mph!!! and that was including crossing albert knob! i feel great as i'm lying in my hammock getting ready for sleep. i think i'll go another 17.9 tomorrow and then make it an easy day on tuesday at noc. i will be a nero, as they say. not quite a zero day, but close enough with only 5 mi of trail. i met some great people tonight at siler bald shelter. we just spent the evening chillin by the fire. it was really nice. 19.6 from carter to siler. 111.4 total.
