day 56 - 05/05

so i am feeling not so good. very foggy in the mind and just drained. i am starting to wonder if this is giardia, a water born bacteria that infects the intestines causing nausea, check, diarrhea (the fookies), check, fatigue, check, mental fogginess, check, and possible dehydration, not yet. the problem is that i have filtered every drop of water i have ever had on the trail, so this would mean my filter has failed in some way. the other problem is that there is no treatment. like salmonella, it just has to run its course. so, hopefully this will clear, and soon. i decided to make it an easier day and went only 17.9mi from peters mt shelter to rausch gap campsite. 1170.0 total.
